Welcome to Davis School Education!
Founder and Specialist Interventionist
About Us
Davis School Education is an education intervention service providing specialist, dynamic and engaging tuition and in-school support for pupils aged 4 to 16.
We understand the dedication of your child’s classroom teacher and the demands of supporting a whole class of learners. Even in excellent schools, there are times when a child benefits from additional, targeted intervention — whether they need to consolidate key skills, address gaps in their knowledge, receive specialist support for a specific learning need or be given greater challenge beyond the expected curriculum.
That is where we come in.
At Davis School Education, we complement your child’s existing education through carefully targeted one-to-one tuition, small-group sessions and in-school interventions. We take the time to understand each learner’s strengths, needs and goals, allowing us to provide focused support at the right level and pace.
For learners who need additional support, intervention may focus on strengthening foundational skills, addressing specific areas of difficulty or developing strategies that enable them to access the curriculum with greater confidence. For gifted and talented learners, we provide opportunities to extend their thinking, deepen their understanding and explore concepts beyond the standard curriculum.
Our approach is purposeful and individualised. We look beyond simply identifying what a child needs to work on and consider why they may be finding a particular area challenging, using this understanding to shape effective teaching and intervention.
Whether a child needs support to catch up, keep pace with their peers or move beyond the expected curriculum, our aim is to help them make meaningful academic progress while developing confidence, independence and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
The Story Behind Davis School Education
Davis School Education was founded by Amy Davis, a qualified UK teacher and specialist educator who has dedicated her career to understanding how children learn and what enables them to thrive.
Amy’s passion for education began at a young age. Her father was a headteacher in special education, and watching her younger brother navigate school with undiagnosed ADHD gave Amy a personal understanding of how challenging education can be when a child’s needs are not fully understood. This experience helped shape her belief that the right approach can transform both a child’s learning and their confidence.
After qualifying as a teacher in 2012, Amy went on to build extensive experience across mainstream education in the UK and internationally. Working with children from diverse cultural, linguistic and educational backgrounds, including English as an Additional Language learners, deepened her understanding that there is no single approach to learning that works for every child.
Over time, Amy developed a particular passion for supporting children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD and specific learning difficulties. She went on to specialise in dyslexia and specific learning difficulties, developing specialist knowledge of the cognitive processes that influence learning, including working memory, processing, literacy and numeracy.
Alongside her teaching career, Amy began tutoring privately. What started as individual tuition after her tradiitonal teaching job gradually grew into a full-time vocation, spreading through word-of-mouth as families saw the difference that a genuinely personalised approach could make. Amy recognised that some children simply needed someone with the time, expertise and flexibility to understand how they learn best — and to build on their strengths rather than defining them by their difficulties.
That became the foundation of Davis School Education.
Today, Amy brings together her classroom experience, specialist SEND knowledge and extensive tutoring expertise to provide an approach that is both academically rigorous and deeply individualised. For Amy, the most rewarding part of education is seeing a child’s confidence change alongside their ability — the moment something finally makes sense, a previously reluctant learner begins to engage, or a child starts to recognise their own strengths.
Davis School Education was created to make those moments happen more often: helping children feel understood, giving them the right tools to succeed, and showing them what they are capable of.

What You Never See in Our Lessons
- Passive Learning: We don’t believe in simply sitting and listening to a teacher without input from a pupil. Nor do we merely use workbooks or do repetitive test papers. Our lessons are active and never boring!
- One-Size-Fits-All: You won’t find a generic teaching approach here. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all method but tailor our lessons to each pupil’s needs and interests.
- Stressful Test Prep: We don’t focus solely on test preparation. While we cover relevant materials and focus on past paper practise closer to exam time, our overall emphasis is on holistic learning, not just exam success.
- Lack of Interaction: In our lessons, there’s no opportunity to sit back and not participate. Our pupils actively participate and engage, understanding that they are in charge of their own journey through the learning “pit”.
- Lack of Support: We don’t leave pupils to struggle on their own. Individual attention and guidance are central to our teaching approach, ensuring every child’s progress.
